Elham –

How we know her – I met Elham first at the gym. I admired the effort she put into her workouts and was in need of human interaction in a big way (This was back in October), so I started small talk, by complimenting her on the way she trained.

What she does – Elham is a sharp lady. She works at a restaurant in the center of the city as the main waitress and like any good Arab (She is from Morocco originally) works the room with her warm and vivacious personality. The result is a lady who does quite well for herself, including having two homes in Florence that she rents out and two more in Morocco!

Our Friendship – Elham is no Florentine, she’s way to open and out spoken, which is what we like about her. Anna and I love to have a long lunch with her. She’s got plenty to say and “Enjoys the things that you can’t buy”. She sights “time with friends”, “spending an afternoon laughing” and “having a six hour dinner” as some of her passions. Here’s and oddity for you, she LOVES her job as a waitress in a very nice restaurant in Florence. She’s knowledgeable on wine and is damn good at what she does.

When we have lunch, she loves to share her opinions on dating Italian men, which she is happy to share at the top of her lungs in a crowded restaurant!

Interesting Quip – Elham speaks five languages (Moroccan, English, French, Italian and Spanish).
